In February...

We read Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity by Mo Willems, A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip C. Stead, Silverlicious by Victoria Kann, and Crow by Leo Timmers. 

We listened to "Little Miss" by Sugarland, "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, and Norah Jones' "Feels Like Home" album.

We enjoyed some good fun with Claiborne and Shelby! 

Lucy accessorized Eli with A LOT of stickers!

We smiled at the funny things they say...we overheard Lucy tell Eli "on my next birthday I'll be 5, then all my teeth will fall out."  And, Eli has learned the difference between boys and girls (usually pronounced "grills", "gills", or "gals") 

We sighed at Lu's sweetness...Chris got the 24-hour stomach-bug on Sunday and spent the afternoon in bed...she left notes at the bedroom door that said "I LOVE YOU DADDY!" 

We laughed at the mess a 2-year old boy can create with an innocent marker...

Right here, right now...

...We're watching Eli take his first steps.

...We're reading Rosie and the Rustlers by Roy Gerrard, A Penguin Story by Antoinette Portis, and Chrysanthemum and Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes. Also, many, many lift-the-flap books!

...We're listening to "Big Green Tractor" by Jason Aldean, "Chicken Fried" by The Zac Brown Band, and, when we're a little more mellow, Norah Jones' new album "The Fall."

...We're laughing out loud when Lucy explains to us that Mr. Wes, the Children's Minister at her preschool who usually leads singing on Tuesdays "got a new God" and the new leader is "Mr. Germ-y" (Jeremy?) ...We enjoyed Krispy Kreme donuts on Saturday morning. Lucy announced "well, I've never been here" when we walked through the door. ...Spring is just around the corner, so we're wearing our corduroys while we can, and we visited the bunnies and model trains at Phillips Toy Mart.

Family Funnies!

Eli has been called "senorita" and "her" - by two different people - in the past 24-hours.

Lucy said "when my friends wear sweatshirts, they don't wear jackets" when I picked out her outfit this morning. Then, she reminded me that she wasn't wearing a jacket as we packed her bag for school. Isn't it a touch early for the "when your friends jump off bridges" discussion?

When Chris came home from work tonight, he said "the playroom looks like a landfill." Indeed.

Let the feasting begin!

Lucy had her Thanksgiving Feast at school today. Each child in her class was supposed to bring something - Lucy was assigned ham. When I picked her up, I asked her what the other kids brought and she said "Beau brought pretzels and Henry brought chocolate-chip cookies"...doesn't that sound exactly like what the Pilgrims and Native Americans ate? Her teacher told me that Lucy didn't eat any of the ham, but she did enjoy passing it out to her friends. :-) Speaking of eating, look closely and you'll see that Eli is getting two teeth on top (to match the two he already has on the bottom!) At breakfast yesterday, Lucy told Eli "once you have teeth you can eat the peoples' food." There is a lot of good interaction between them at breakfast while they're eating their bananas and pancakes!
